Beethoven-The Man Revealed

Classic FM's John Suchet offered us a fascinating and touchingly human insight into Beethoven. Award-winning broadcaster, journalist and Beethoven expert, John vividly brought the great composer to life.

To further enhance the evening, piano virtuoso

Jinah Shim performed Beethoven Sonatas D major Op. 28 (‘Pastoral’ Sonata) and E major Op. 109

"his enthusiasm was infectious"
"Clearly John Suchet loves his subject, he brought Beethoven to life for me"

Positively Parkinson's
A day celebrating the art of the possible for people living with Parkinson's
10am. Make a Move! Feel the Beat!
Parkinson's dance specialist Kate Finegan and music animateur extraordinaire Sarah Freestone took a group of willing volunteers on an adventure through sound and movement, creating a new comedy theme tune with a full dance routine to match. See the final sharing performance in the video here...

"if you'd told me I was going to help create a dance piece and act like Charlie Chaplin, I would never have come. Actually it was fabulous fun and I loved it"

"Kate and Sarah were brilliant.  Please can we do it again soon"

"Just so good! I didn't feel embarrassed at all"

7pm. Incurable Optimist. In the evening comedy writer and performer Paul Mayhew-Archer performed his one-man show. A capacity audience laughed until it hurt at his extraordinary stories and personal insight.

"I was diagnosed with Parkinson's six months ago. After hearing Paul, I'm going to go home and look at life a different way, with fun and laughter "

"Paul Mayhew-Archer was a tour de force. Hilarious and moving"

"You don't need to have Parkinson's to laugh out loud at this show. Absolutely phenomenal"
